KRILLIONAIRE

Frequently asked questions

How the game works, in plain words.

PLAYING

How do I play?

Each day has 7 prompts, like “Name a stock in the Dow.” You get 25 seconds for each one. Type any answer that fits.

If your answer isn’t on the list, it bounces and you can try again. Keep going until the clock runs out. Your first valid answer locks in and scores.

When does a new game start?

Everyone gets the same 7 prompts. A new set starts at midnight Eastern Time (New York).

What does autocorrect do?

If you make a small typo in a real answer, we show what we think you meant. Submit again to confirm it, or edit your answer. The clock keeps running while you decide. A close typo sent as the clock hits zero still counts.

Can I play more than once a day?

No. You get one play a day, so everyone’s score is a first try. Come back tomorrow for new prompts.

SCORING

How are answers scored?

Rarer answers score more. Every valid answer lands in one of six tiers:

  • 10INDEX FUNDThe obvious answers that nearly everyone says.
  • 15MEME STOCKThe “clever” pick that everyone reaches for. Most prompts don’t have one.
  • 30BLUE CHIPWell known, but not the first thing most people type.
  • 60SMALL CAPLess obvious. You had to think a bit.
  • 85TEN-BAGGERAny valid answer outside the obvious few. Most of an answer set sits here.
  • 100KRILLIONAIREHand-picked gems. A prompt has zero, one or two of them.

A wrong answer, or no answer before the clock runs out, scores 0.

How do you decide what’s rare?

Every valid answer starts as a Ten-Bagger. We then move the few answers that most people say down to the lower tiers. So if you know a real answer that few people think of, you get the high score.

Why is my score a net worth?

You start the day with $1, and every point grows it. A perfect day is 700 points (7 prompts × 100), and 700 points is $1 krillion. That’s our name for $1,000,000,000,000,000. About every 47 points multiplies your net worth by 10, so the last answers of the day add the most dollars.

ANSWERS

Where do the answers come from?

We build each answer set from public lists and official sources, such as exchange listings. When you finish, the results screen links each answer to its source, with the date the data is “as of.” We don’t send any answers to your device until you finish.

My answer was right, but it was rejected. What now?

Report it from the results screen. We review every report and can add answers the same day. If we add an answer, we re-calculate the scores of players who gave it, and show a note that the score changed.

YOUR STATS

What does “better than N% of today’s players” mean?

It is the share of today’s finished games with a lower score than yours. Games that were not finished don’t count. A tie doesn’t count as a game you beat.

Where are my streaks saved?

On your device, in your browser. There are no accounts yet. If you clear your browser data, or play on a different browser or device, your streaks and history start again from zero.
